The venue of the Conference will be the Parliament Library Building, adjacent to the Parliament House in New Delhi.
The Conference will be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Speaker of Lok Sabha, Shri Somnath Chatterjee, at 11.00 AM on 18 January 2005 in the Main Committee Room of the Parliament House Annexe. Prior to that, at 10.45 AM, a Group Photograph of all Delegates and Observers will be taken. Delegates may assemble in the Foyers of their Hotels latest by 0930 AM from where they will be picked up by our Transport team. Similarly, they will be picked up on all Conference days from the Hotel Foyers.
Please let us know your flight details. We are making arrangements to pick you up at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. Look out for the APLAP Desk at the airport
Most of the Delegates will be staying at The Claridges Hotel, which is a short distance from the main venue. Some others have opted for Samrat Hotel which is very near to The Claridges.

All Delegates/Observers are requested to contact our Registration Desk in the Hotel Foyer. Please register at this Desk and collect your Identity Cards and other relevant literature.
All Delegates and Observers are requested to wear the Identity Cards on all occasions. For security reasons, admission to the Conference facilities and to all programme activities will be limited to those wearing identity badges. Delegates and accompanying persons are, therefore, kindly requested to display their badges prominently. They are also advised not to carry cell phones, etc. to the Parliament Complex.
Transport services will be provided for all activities included in the Conference Programme.
Please mail your Country Report urgently. We appreciate if you could e-mail your paper as a Word document attachment at the same time so that we can prepare the timetable for the Sessions and make sufficient number of copies for distribution at the Sessions.
EQUIPMENT FOR PRESENTATION
If you are going to make a presentation by using equipment such as a laptop computer, please let us know your computer specifications so that we can confirm that you do not face any technical problems during your presentation at the Conference.
Contact any officer on duty at the APLAP Conference venue for accessing the internet. We have set aside a few terminals to enable you to access the internet, your e-mail, etc.
We have arranged a sight-seeing tour of Delhi in the afternoon of 18 January 2005. Please contact our officers for more details.
Please inform the Conference officials about your participation in the tour of Agra; we need your details for booking your tickets. Kindly note that the tour is on 20 January 2005. The train leaves Delhi at 0600 AM. Delegates staying at Samrat Hotel may assemble in the Foyer at 04.50 AM from where they will be picked up. From The Claridges, Delegates will be picked up at 05.10 AM.
We have with us some Delegates whose spouses are also coming along. For the spouses, we shall be arranging some local sight-seeing and shopping facilities. Do let us know your preferences.
We have arranged a photographer to cover the entire Conference, including the tour of Agra and local sight-seeing. Photographs will be put on display near the Conference Hall. Please procure copies on payment from the photographer. Photography is strictly prohibited in the Parliament Complex.
In case of any medical emergency, please contact any of our officers. While at Hotel, call the Assistance Desk. We have made special arrangements to meet such contingencies if they arise.
January is a winter month in Delhi. The maximum temperature will be approximately 21°C (69.8°F) and the minimum will be about 07°C (44.6°F). Please bring necessary woollen clothing/coats/sweaters/gloves/umbrellas, etc. as per your needs.
